Chapter 23

1 THEN they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are robbing the threshing floors.

2 And David inquired of the LORD, saying. Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said to him, Go and smite the Philistines and save Keilah.

3 And David's men said to him, We are afraid here in Judea, how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

4 Then David inquired of the LORD again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

5 So David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines and brought away their cattle and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

6 And it came to pass, when Abiathar the son of Ahimeleck fled to David to Keilah, he came down with an ephod in his hand.

7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into my hands; for he has shut himself up by entering a town that has gates and bars.

8 And Saul called all the people together to war to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.

9 land David knew that Saul was plotting mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod to me.

10 Then David said, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant has heard for certain that Saul seeks to come to Keilah to destroy the city on my account.

11 Will the men of the city deliver me and the men who are with me into the hand of Saul?

12 And the LORD said, They will deliver you; arise and go out of the city.

13 Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. And it was told Saul that David had fled from Keilah; and he forbore to go forth.

14 And David abode in the wilderness of Misroth, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.

15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life; and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a forest.

16 And Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David in the forest, and strengthened his hands in God.

17 And he said to him, Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be with you, and you shall live; and even Saul my father knows that it is so.

18 And they two made a covenant in the valley before the LORD (who sits upon the cherubim). And Jonathan went to his house.

19 Then the Ziphites came up to Saul at Gibeah, saying, Behold, David is hiding himself with us in Mizroth, in the forest in Gibaoth, in the valley which is on the right side of the desert.

20 Now therefore, come down against us according to all the desire of your soul, and we shall deliver him into the king's hand.

21 And Saul said to them, Blessed be you of the LORD; for you have compassion on me.

22 Return and search and find the place where his haunt is and learn who has seen him there; for I am told that he is very subtle.

23 Know therefore and learn of all the lurking places where he hides himself, and return to me, to en_lbp_inform me with certainty, and I will go with you; and if he is in the land, I will search him out throughout all the thousands of Judah.

24 So they arose and went to Ziph before Saul; but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain by the side of the desert.

25 And Saul and his men went to seek David. And they told David: therefore he came down to Selah and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued David in the wilderness of Maon.

26 And Saul went on one side of the mountain and David and his men on the other side of the mountain: and David made haste to flee from Saul; for Saul and his men surrounded David and his men to take them.

27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Make haste and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

28 Wherefore Saul returned from pursuing David, and went against the Philistines; therefore they called that land the Division of Sinar.

29 land David went up from thence, and dwelt in Mizroth, which is in Gibaoth.

1 Донесли Давиду, и сказали: вот Филистимляне воюют против Кеилы, и расхищают гумна.

2 Давид вопросил Господа, и сказал: идти ли мне поразить Филистимлян сих? и сказал Господь Давиду: пойди, порази Филистимлян и спаси Кеилу.

3 Бывшие же с Давидом сказали ему: вот, мы здесь, в Иудее, в страхе, кольми паче когда пойдем в Кеилу к полкам Филистимлян.

4 Давид еще вопросил Господа; и отвечал ему Господь, и сказал: встань, пойди в Кеилу, ибо Я предам Филистимлян в руки твои.

5 И пошел Давид и бывшие с ним в Кеилу, и сразился с Филистимлянами, и угнал он скот их, и поразил их великим поражением. Таким образом спас Давид жителей Кеилы.

6 Когда убежал Авиафар, сын Ахимелехов, к Давиду в Кеилу, то и ефод принесен был им.

7 И донесено Саулу, что Давид пришел в Кеилу, и сказал Саул: предает его Бог в руки мои, ибо он теперь заперт, вошедши в город, имеющий ворота и затворы.

8 И объявил Саул всему народу поход на войну в Кеилу, чтобы окружить Давида и людей его.

9 Давид узнав, что Саул умышляет против него сие зло, сказал Авиафару: принеси ефод.

10 И сказал Давид: Господи, Боже Израилев! раб твой услышал, что Саул хочет идти в Кеилу, погубить город за меня.

11 Предадут ли меня жители Кеилы в руки его? Придет ли сюда Саул, так, как слышал раб Твой? Господи, Боже Израилев! открой рабу Твоему. И сказал Господь: придет.

12 Давид сказал: предадут ли жители Кеилы меня и людей моих в руки Саула, - и сказал Господь: предадут.

13 Тогда встал Давид и люди его около шести сот человек и вышли из Кеилы, и ходили, где ходить могли. Саулу же донесено, что Давид убежал из Кеилы, - он не пошел туда.

14 И находился Давид в пустыне в убежищах, и жил в горе, в пустыне Зиф. Саул искал его всякий день: но Бог не предал его в руки его.

15 И Давид видел, что Саул ходит и ищет души его. Давид же был тогда в пустыне Зиф, в лесу.

16 И встал Ионафан, сын Саулов, и пошел к Давиду в лес, и подкреплял руку его надеждою на Бога.

17 И сказал ему: не бойся, ибо не найдет тебя рука Саула, отца моего, и ты будешь царем над Израилем, а я буду вторым по тебе. И Саул, отец мой, знает сие.

18 И оба они заключили союз пред лицем Господним, и остался Давид в лесу, а Ионафан пошел в дом свой.

19 И пришли Зифеи к Саулу в Гиву, и сказали: Давид скрывается у нас в убежищах, в лесу, на холме Гахиле, который на правой стороне пустыни.

20 Итак, если есть желание души твоей, царь, идти, - иди, а наше дело предать его в руки царя.

21 И сказал Саул: благословенны вы от Господа, что пожалели о мне.

22 Итак, пойдите уверьтесь еще, узнайте и высмотрите место его, где бывает нога его, кто видел его там: ибо мне говорят, что он весьма лукав.

23 Изведайте, и узнайте все скрытые места, в которых он скрывается, и возвратитесь ко мне с верным известием, и я пойду с вами. И если он в сей земле, то я буду искать его по всем племенам Иудиным.

24 И встали они и пошли в Зиф, прежде Саула. Давид же и люди его были тогда в пустыне Маон, на равнине, по правую сторону пустыни.

25 И пошел Саул и люди его искать; когда уведомили о сем Давида, он сошел на скалу и оставался в пустыне Маон. Саул, услышав, погнался за Давидом в пустыню Маон.

26 И шел Саул с одной стороны горы, а Давид и люди его были на другой стороне горы. Но между тем, как Давид поспешал уйти от Саула, а Саул и люди его окружали Давида и его людей, чтобы схватить их:

27 Пришел к Саулу вестник, и сказал: поспешай, и иди, ибо Филистимляне напали на землю.

28 И возвратился Саул от преследования Давида, и пошел навстречу Филистимлянам. Потому и назвали то место скалою Скользкой.

1 THEN they told David, saying, Behold, the Philistines are fighting against Keilah and are robbing the threshing floors.

1 Донесли Давиду, и сказали: вот Филистимляне воюют против Кеилы, и расхищают гумна.

2 And David inquired of the LORD, saying. Shall I go and smite these Philistines? And the LORD said to him, Go and smite the Philistines and save Keilah.

2 Давид вопросил Господа, и сказал: идти ли мне поразить Филистимлян сих? и сказал Господь Давиду: пойди, порази Филистимлян и спаси Кеилу.

3 And David's men said to him, We are afraid here in Judea, how much more then if we go to Keilah against the armies of the Philistines?

3 Бывшие же с Давидом сказали ему: вот, мы здесь, в Иудее, в страхе, кольми паче когда пойдем в Кеилу к полкам Филистимлян.

4 Then David inquired of the LORD again. And the LORD answered him and said, Arise, go down to Keilah; for I will deliver the Philistines into your hand.

4 Давид еще вопросил Господа; и отвечал ему Господь, и сказал: встань, пойди в Кеилу, ибо Я предам Филистимлян в руки твои.

5 So David and his men went to Keilah and fought with the Philistines and brought away their cattle and smote them with a great slaughter. So David saved the inhabitants of Keilah.

5 И пошел Давид и бывшие с ним в Кеилу, и сразился с Филистимлянами, и угнал он скот их, и поразил их великим поражением. Таким образом спас Давид жителей Кеилы.

6 Когда убежал Авиафар, сын Ахимелехов, к Давиду в Кеилу, то и ефод принесен был им.

7 And it was told Saul that David was come to Keilah. And Saul said, God has delivered him into my hands; for he has shut himself up by entering a town that has gates and bars.

7 И донесено Саулу, что Давид пришел в Кеилу, и сказал Саул: предает его Бог в руки мои, ибо он теперь заперт, вошедши в город, имеющий ворота и затворы.

8 And Saul called all the people together to war to go down to Keilah to besiege David and his men.

8 И объявил Саул всему народу поход на войну в Кеилу, чтобы окружить Давида и людей его.

9 land David knew that Saul was plotting mischief against him; and he said to Abiathar the priest, Bring the ephod to me.

9 Давид узнав, что Саул умышляет против него сие зло, сказал Авиафару: принеси ефод.

10 Then David said, O LORD God of Israel, thy servant has heard for certain that Saul seeks to come to Keilah to destroy the city on my account.

10 И сказал Давид: Господи, Боже Израилев! раб твой услышал, что Саул хочет идти в Кеилу, погубить город за меня.

11 Will the men of the city deliver me and the men who are with me into the hand of Saul?

11 Предадут ли меня жители Кеилы в руки его? Придет ли сюда Саул, так, как слышал раб Твой? Господи, Боже Израилев! открой рабу Твоему. И сказал Господь: придет.

12 And the LORD said, They will deliver you; arise and go out of the city.

12 Давид сказал: предадут ли жители Кеилы меня и людей моих в руки Саула, - и сказал Господь: предадут.

13 Then David and his men, who were about six hundred, arose and departed from Keilah and went wherever they could go. And it was told Saul that David had fled from Keilah; and he forbore to go forth.

13 Тогда встал Давид и люди его около шести сот человек и вышли из Кеилы, и ходили, где ходить могли. Саулу же донесено, что Давид убежал из Кеилы, - он не пошел туда.

14 And David abode in the wilderness of Misroth, and remained in a mountain in the wilderness of Ziph. And Saul sought him every day, but God did not deliver him into his hand.

14 И находился Давид в пустыне в убежищах, и жил в горе, в пустыне Зиф. Саул искал его всякий день: но Бог не предал его в руки его.

15 And David saw that Saul was come out to seek his life; and David was in the wilderness of Ziph in a forest.

15 И Давид видел, что Саул ходит и ищет души его. Давид же был тогда в пустыне Зиф, в лесу.

16 And Jonathan, Saul's son, arose and went to David in the forest, and strengthened his hands in God.

16 И встал Ионафан, сын Саулов, и пошел к Давиду в лес, и подкреплял руку его надеждою на Бога.

17 And he said to him, Fear not; for the hand of Saul my father shall not find you; and you shall be king over Israel, and I shall be with you, and you shall live; and even Saul my father knows that it is so.

17 И сказал ему: не бойся, ибо не найдет тебя рука Саула, отца моего, и ты будешь царем над Израилем, а я буду вторым по тебе. И Саул, отец мой, знает сие.

18 And they two made a covenant in the valley before the LORD (who sits upon the cherubim). And Jonathan went to his house.

18 И оба они заключили союз пред лицем Господним, и остался Давид в лесу, а Ионафан пошел в дом свой.

19 И пришли Зифеи к Саулу в Гиву, и сказали: Давид скрывается у нас в убежищах, в лесу, на холме Гахиле, который на правой стороне пустыни.

20 Now therefore, come down against us according to all the desire of your soul, and we shall deliver him into the king's hand.

20 Итак, если есть желание души твоей, царь, идти, - иди, а наше дело предать его в руки царя.

21 And Saul said to them, Blessed be you of the LORD; for you have compassion on me.

21 И сказал Саул: благословенны вы от Господа, что пожалели о мне.

22 Return and search and find the place where his haunt is and learn who has seen him there; for I am told that he is very subtle.

22 Итак, пойдите уверьтесь еще, узнайте и высмотрите место его, где бывает нога его, кто видел его там: ибо мне говорят, что он весьма лукав.

23 Изведайте, и узнайте все скрытые места, в которых он скрывается, и возвратитесь ко мне с верным известием, и я пойду с вами. И если он в сей земле, то я буду искать его по всем племенам Иудиным.

24 So they arose and went to Ziph before Saul; but David and his men were in the wilderness of Maon, in the plain by the side of the desert.

24 И встали они и пошли в Зиф, прежде Саула. Давид же и люди его были тогда в пустыне Маон, на равнине, по правую сторону пустыни.

25 And Saul and his men went to seek David. And they told David: therefore he came down to Selah and abode in the wilderness of Maon. And when Saul heard that, he pursued David in the wilderness of Maon.

25 И пошел Саул и люди его искать; когда уведомили о сем Давида, он сошел на скалу и оставался в пустыне Маон. Саул, услышав, погнался за Давидом в пустыню Маон.

26 And Saul went on one side of the mountain and David and his men on the other side of the mountain: and David made haste to flee from Saul; for Saul and his men surrounded David and his men to take them.

26 И шел Саул с одной стороны горы, а Давид и люди его были на другой стороне горы. Но между тем, как Давид поспешал уйти от Саула, а Саул и люди его окружали Давида и его людей, чтобы схватить их:

27 But there came a messenger to Saul, saying, Make haste and come; for the Philistines have invaded the land.

27 Пришел к Саулу вестник, и сказал: поспешай, и иди, ибо Филистимляне напали на землю.
